February 21, 2025: Bonus Buzz: Bee 🐝Meets Rudy! 🐴

Let’s set the scene: Bee, our tall, elegant mare, was minding her business (or was she?) when a pint-sized new neighbor made his grand entrance. Rudy the Shetland pony might be small in stature, but he’s big on personality—and Bee wasn’t quite sure what to make of him. 🐴😳

It wasn’t exactly love at first sight.

At first, Bee sized him up with those classic skeptical ears and a bit of a snort. Rudy, unfazed, stood his ground like a true Shetland king. Their interaction was part curiosity, part sass, and 100% entertainment.

Introducing new horses to a herd always comes with a mix of excitement and caution. Size doesn’t matter as much as attitude, and Rudy’s got plenty of it. Bee, while gentle with her people, tends to be the queen bee of her herd—so having a confident mini trotting around in her orbit was a new twist.

While there were no sparks flying this time (at least the friendly kind!), it’s early days. We’re hopeful that Bee and Rudy might grow into tolerating—if not totally befriending—each other. Stranger things have happened in barn friendships, after all!
