How Wise Market Originated
Hey there, I'm Christina Wise, the brain and brush behind Wise Market Custom Painting!
From Corporate Chief Financial Officer to Creative Business Owner
In retirement I traded in my CFO's calculator for a set of paintbrushes, creating custom gifts for friends and family just for fun. I found dusting off my artistic talents that had been snoozing for decades soul-reviving.
I then “saddled up” to pursue my lifelong dream of horseback riding lessons. This quickly acquired passion spurred the idea of buying a horse for regular jaunts… The only problem was: How can I do this without denting my nest egg?
That’s where I had the thought, ‘what if my paintings could fund a four-legged friend?!’ After years of gifting custom-painted creations to family and friends, I decided to share my talent with the world (not to brag, but my art has gone as far as Australia!).
Using social media, I showcased my art to gauge demand for potential customers. The response was overwhelming, with requests to create unique cheer boards for our local cheerleaders' cheer boxes. Then came the request for personalized/custom sports balls, bibles, signage, and even camping trunks.
Riding on this wave, I launched Wise Market Custom Painting, a business with the ultimate goal of funding the rescue and care of a horse (Update: Goal achieved! Check the Weekly Buzz with Bee), and maybe even a herd if things go well.
My dream of owning and caring for a horse sparked the Wise Market journey, and each custom order since 2024 has helped make that dream a reality. For that, I can’t thank my loyal and new customers enough.

The One-Woman Team
Christina Wise is the heart and soul of Wise Market. With a background in finance and operations and a passion for art, I bring a unique blend of creativity and structure to my work. As a one-woman operation, I handle every aspect of the business — from designing and painting to customer service and order fulfillment. My meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality ensure that each piece is not only beautiful, but also meaningful.
But where would I be without my faithful helpers? My husband Jim — my partner in crime and staunch supporter of my every whim — has been by my side for 30 years; three incredible daughters and son-in-law; two adorable grandchildren; a couple of grand cats; a grand dog; and our own dog fur-boss, Indi, who supervises my painting daily. My daughter’s cats, Bucky (pictured here) and Steve, run tight quality control. But don’t worry… no cat hair is included in your custom creation!
Jim and I enjoy traveling whether it be in an RV in the US or via plane around the globe, but our favorite place to go is Nashville to visit the grandbabies.
When I'm not painting, I enjoy exploring my city or new cities through food experiences, spending time with family by the pool, traveling, and indulging in my love for horseback riding.
