Between a weekend in Fredericksburg (Indi and Kota tagged along and Jenna met us there!) and spending time with our daughter Kristin while she’s visiting from Dublin, I only made it to the barn twice this week. Thankfully, Bee decided to cooperate. Sarah had a great ride Tuesday, I had a good ride Wednesday, and Kristin finally got the grand tour of Equine Obsession and met the horse she hears so much about. Of course, Bee couldn’t let the week pass without giving me something to worry about. I discovered a tiny summer sore forming on her lip and immediately started treatment. That got me thinking about all the horse health topics that seem to pop up every Texas summer. I may regret writing this, but Bee had a pretty good week. 🤠 After spending several days protesting stall life, she seems to have settled in. We had a successful ride Saturday, Sarah had a fantastic ride Monday, and Wednesday turned into a full spa day complete with an adjustment, hoof trim, and Bee's least favorite activity... deworming. The new Porta-Coolers arrived at the barn this week and Bee has become their biggest fan. Apparently luxury stall life isn't so bad when you're standing in a cool breeze with wet hair and zero responsibilities. Meanwhile, we're welcoming family from Ireland and sneaking away to Fredericksburg this weekend. Behind every small business there are a thousand little things holding it together. Coffee cups that should probably be washed. Open boxes. Paint brushes that have somehow multiplied. And then there is one BIG thing. God. I spend a lot of days creating keepsakes that celebrate someone else's big moments, but if I'm honest, there are also days where I question things, feel overwhelmed, or wonder if I can keep all the plates spinning.
