Bonus Buzz: Thirteen Looks Good on You Bee!
Today Bee, my horse, turns thirteen!
Officially a teenager, which in horse years means very little and also explains a lot.
Unlike humans, horses do not suddenly change overnight when they hit a certain age. There is no dramatic shift, no milestone moment, no sudden maturity or rebellion that comes with a birthday. What matters more is how they have been cared for, trained, listened to, and partnered with over time.
At thirteen, Bee is right where she should be. Experienced enough to know her job. Young enough to have plenty of years ahead of her. Confident, opinionated, curious, and still very much interested in negotiating terms.
If anything, age has given her clarity. She knows what she likes. She knows what she does not. She knows when she is willing to work and when she would prefer to discuss it first.
And honestly, same.
This year is less about counting candles and more about appreciating where we are. A sound, healthy horse. A growing partnership. A whole lot of learning still ahead of us.
Happy birthday to the mare who keeps me laughing, learning, and on my toes. Thirteen suits you just fine.
Until next time,
Christina & Bee 🐝💛
Looks Innocent. Isn’t. Mare energy activated.
