Remember when we said, “One chapter wrapping up”? Yeah… we might have spoken too soon. 🏀🔥 These Southlake Carroll Dragons seniors are still very much writing this chapter, and they’re doing it loud. Lady Dragon Basketball is 12–0 in District 4-6A, 26–1 on the season, and coming off a huge 58–44 win at Keller. They’ve got a three-game lead in the district standings with four games left in the regular season. Turns out the mini basketballs weren’t a finale. They were fuel. These hand-painted pieces still celebrate senior year, the early mornings, late nights, friendships, and wearing Dragon green with pride. But now they also celebrate grit, focus, and a team that keeps showing up and getting it done. This chapter isn’t wrapping up yet. It’s still being written, one game at a time. And because hydration matters, especially in cold weather, I sweet-talked her into drinking almost four gallons of water with Replenimash. She hated every second of it. If you’ve ever seen a baby go full feral on a smash cake, that’s the vibe. Messy face, zero regrets, and absolutely offended by the experience while simultaneously finishing every last drop. Barn life is equal parts care, management, and convincing a horse that what you’re doing is definitely in her best interest. Even when she strongly disagrees. The OG. Named for being the highest point along the Ohio & Erie Canal. High ground energy from the very beginning. Which makes this custom piece feel especially fitting! This hand-painted volleyball was created for an athlete from AKRON, IOWA, proudly featuring her name and the Akron-Westfield Westerlies logo. But the real story is what she earned. She was awarded 2025 MVP All-Conference Academic and named 1st Team All-Conference 1A NW. That kind of recognition takes more than talent. It takes grit. Early mornings. Late nights. Balancing schoolwork with practices. Showing up when it’s hard and pushing through when no one is watching. That’s high point energy if I’ve ever seen it! Catching up on sharing some of the pieces I painted for Christmas gifts, because December flew by and my camera roll is judging me. This one was extra special. A grandma is building a wine glass collection to honor her grandchildren, with each glass representing where they landed in college. One classic stemmed glass and one stemless each for Baylor Law School and Buffalo State. Different schools, same proud grandma, and a collection that will grow right along with her family. Most people know me for hand-painted sports balls, but here’s the truth. I can paint just about anything. If it holds still long enough, it’s fair game. Wine glasses are some of my favorites because they’re personal, functional, and meant to be enjoyed, not hidden away. Custom gifts like this tell a story. They celebrate people, milestones, and the pride that comes with watching the next generation chase big things. And honestly, I love being trusted with pieces that mean this much.
