March 21, 2025: Babysitters, Bounces & Big Girl Steps!
This week, our girl Bee had her first full day out with the herd—and it was nothing short of monumental. The weather was perfect: a cool breeze, sunshine warming her back, and plenty of space to stretch those legs. She spent most of the day stuck like glue to her trusty sidekick, Sinjari.
Of course, true to Bee fashion, it wasn’t all sunshine and snoozes. A surprise spook from the ponies sent Bee into what can only be described as equestrian karate mode—legs flying in every direction. That meant a second day out this week wasn't in the cards -- we quickly pivoted to a paddock time-out, but not before she reminded everyone who’s boss (again).
This week also brought a first for me—I learned how to soak Bee’s hoof in Epsom salts and wrap it back up. Honestly? I was nervous. It felt like a high-stakes science project! But with steady hands and a little faith, we got it done. Even better? A big thumbs up (or hoof up?) from Dr. Roeber: “Looks good!”
And since I’m out of town in Ohio this week, Bee got her very own “babysitters,” Reagan and Payton—cowgirls of epic proportions. These two are barrel-racing champions heading to Nationals this weekend, and they’ve been loving on Bee like true pros. They’ve made sure she gets time out of her stall, and the videos and photos they've sent me absolutely melted my heart. Bee is definitely feeling the love—and I might be just a teensy bit jealous of all the extra attention she’s getting!
Big love to Reagan & Payton—when I grow up, I wanna “bee” just like you.
Until next week, keep buzzing and keep believing in big girl steps—even if a pony or two still throws us off our game.
