Spilled my coffee all over my desk today. Which, apparently, was exactly the motivation I needed to finally clean the top and under it. And I have to say… it looks amazing. Organized. Fresh. Productive. Like someone who really has their life together works here. What you don’t see is where everything that used to be on my desk landed. The floor. Behind me. Somewhere near my computer. Possibly forming its own ecosystem at this point. So yes… the desk is clean. We’re just not asking any follow-up questions. There are some pieces I am trusted to create that feel especially sacred. Recently I had the privilege of painting two Bibles for a dear barn friend and her sister. Similar in design, one finished in a warm Tuscan red and the other in a rich cranberry tone, both were created to become heirloom pieces. The kind that are reverently displayed in a home, opened or used during life’s most meaningful moments, and eventually passed down to the next generation. While I quietly pray over every item I create, lifting up both the person giving the gift and the one receiving it, projects like these invite an even deeper pause. I find myself praying over the hands that have already turned these pages and over the hands that will hold them in the years to come. I pray for the families, the faith, and the memories that will live within their homes. It is a sacred kind of creativity. A blessing I do not take lightly. Since it’s St. Patrick’s Day, it feels like the perfect time to share our Irish connection. While Wise Market was built here in Texas, part of its foundation lives across the ocean. Our daughter, who lives in Ireland, designed our website and continues to be an important part of the business behind the scenes. Small businesses rarely grow alone.
